'Back to the Future Part II' featured all sorts of retro-futuristic cool gear like the self-lacing Nike MAGs Marty McFly wore. Now, in an effort to raise money for Parkinson's Research, the company is making 1,500 pairs of these shows available for auction, and Michael J. Fox brought a pair to 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS).They look as awesome now as they did then, though Fox didn't wear them for us. Nor do they actually lace up by themselves, but it doesn't matter. As Fox indicated, auctioning the shoes are a great way to raise money because it taps into three different groups of people.
"The sneakerheads, who love sneakers," he said. "The 'Back to the Future' guys, ... [and] the people in the Parkinson's community who have an interest in research."
Now if we could just get moving on the hoverboard and those flying cars, we'll be almost all caught up to the coolest gadgets of the film's "future" 2010.
