Dina Manzo on Returning to TV, Grandma Wrinkles and 'Dina's Party'

Dina ManzoChances are you know Dina Manzo from her time on Bravo's 'Real Housewives of New Jersey.' It's hard to forget her feud with Danielle Staub, the resulting drama -- table flips, gag orders and so much more -- and Manzo's famous exit from the reality series, which was attributed to Staub's antics.

However, it's been more than a year since Manzo said goodbye to 'Housewives' and reality TV as a whole, but when HGTV came a-callin', Manzo said she couldn't refuse their call.

"When I left 'Housewives' I had no intentions of coming back on TV at all," Manzo told AOL TV. "This opportunity came to me and I spoke with my husband and I said, 'You know, not for nothing, I love HGTV. This is what I love to do and you know how happy event planning makes me.'"

With her husband's blessing and the assurance her family and foundation wouldn't be affected by the series, Manzo said it was an easy decision. "I said 'Why not?' I love what I do, I love my team."

What's the show like?
We're having the best time ever and I love that it's reality mixed in with like fantasy of these amazing events, but there are all these practical hints that not only people who have homes and want to throw a party can learn, but you guys don't have to be HGTV fans to pick up something from it. I think that my Bravo people are going to be able to come over the HGTV family and pick up some fun hints from decorating to fashion to beauty to anything lifestyle from the show. And laugh, because my team is insane.

We throw a party a week at people's homes. We completely transform these everyday houses of all sizes and all shapes, into a great party. We've got lots of characters involved. Of course Grandma Wrinkles is on the show. I have a new puppy with no arms, her name is Gracie and she's head of PR at the office so she's involved too. It's lots of fun but you'll be able to get something out of it too.

You know, I was asked to find out about Grandma Wrinkles.
Grandma is a bigger star than I ever hope to be. Everywhere I go everybody wants to know about that stinky cat. She's fine, she still smells. She's definitely being upstaged by my new puppy and is not happy about it, but what are you going to do? She's still on Twitter, follow her on Twitter -- @GrandmaWrinkles -- she hasn't tweeted in a while because Giggy [Lisa Vanderpump's dog on 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'] broke her heart, she was devastated. She's alright though, she's getting over it.

Should we expect any celebrities or any of your 'Real Housewives' friends?
Yes, you never know! I have some things lined up. Like I said, it's got a little bit of lifestyle in it, so we'll have experts in the field. This week we're working with a famous stylist who's going to come in and work with us on the episode. Little surprises here and there to keep viewers on their toes.

I was trying to come up with a question about Danielle, but I don't want to ruin a good mood.
That's right! I like that. I have a new assistant named Danielle. She's beautiful, friendly, funny and I love her!

'Dina's Party' premieres Sat., Sept. 10, 10PM on HGTV.
