'Entourage' Series Finale: (Almost) All Roads Lead to Paris (VIDEO)
Last week, Vince helped out his buddies Turtle and Johnny Drama. That left only this week's series finale of 'Entourage' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on HBO) to help Eric and Ari. Could he throw money at their women problems and make them better? And what about his own lady situation?!!SPOILER ALERT!!
Well, somehow, Vince convinced the reluctant Sophie to marry him. We're talking drop everything and marry him immediately, after a 24-hour date. What was the time gap between last week's episode and this week? It didn't seem to be much, so how on earth did he do that?
She fought tooth and nail against even going on a date with him and now she was ready to marry him just like that? Okay, it was a big ring, but come on?
I guess they needed that happy ending. Or maybe second thoughts will drive the plot of the upcoming movie, should it ever come to fruition. But Vince couldn't be the only one to get the girl in the end, right? It was happy endings all around!
Ari decided to quit his job and give his wife that long-promised year-long sojourn in Italy. This worked out pretty well for Vince, who was getting married in Paris and wanted all his buddies there. Johnny Drama and Turtle were a lock, but Eric was going to be more difficult. After all, they wanted to "fix" this Sloan mess as well.
Drama and Turtle tried first, but then Vince messed it up by telling her crazy father she was pregnant. Maybe him finding Eric and trying to kill him will drive the plot of the upcoming movie, should it ever come to fruition.
Still, you couldn't help but be touched by the lengths to which Vince went for his friend. He booked a second private jet for Eric and had Sloan standing at the base of it as a surprise. They could go to Paris or maybe they'll find an adventure of their own, which will drive the plot of ... well, you know.
It was a light and fluffy feel-good ending for a series that seemed to be at its best when it was just that. Implausible? Maybe. A little too schmaltzy? Yes. But ultimately satisfying? Definitely.
What did you think of the final farewell?
