Dr. Stork Gives Stress-Relief Advice on 'The Early Show' (VIDEO)

Dr Travis Stork talks stress relief on 'The Early Show'One of the chief questions that preoccupies us in modern times is, how do we relieve stress? That question was put to Dr. Travis Stork of 'The Doctors' Tuesday morning on 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM on CBS) in a viewer Q&A segment. The man said he had a stressful job and found it hard to relax when he got home, and asked how he could tell he might need to see a doctor about it.

Dr. Stork's advice? "If you're getting to the point where you're emotionally exhausted," he said, "completely burnt out, you're starting to feel depressed and sad all the time, if you're having insomnia and you can't sleep at night, that's when you need to go seek help."

He also said that job stress can have very real impacts on your health, mentioning high blood pressure and heart disease. He also said that, before you get to the point where you need to seek help, you should try to do a few things on your own. "Part of this is, we go to work and we create this vicious cycle," he said. "We feel stress so we eat worse, we don't take care of ourselves, we stop exercising, we don't sleep as well. So take moments each and every day at work to relax."
