As 'Kate Plus 8' Ends, Kate Sees More TV In Her Family's Future (VIDEO)
It was the end of an era for Kate Gosselin as the series finale of 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 9PM ET on TLC) marked the end of a crazy ride in the spotlight. Gosselin first shot to stardom alongside her husband Jon and their brood of 8 children when 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' premiered in 2007.By 2009, the pair were on the cover of every tabloid magazine in the country, and their Season 5 premiere netted a record 9.8 million viewers.
But things changed dramatically after that, as the couple split and Jon was dropped from the show. Since then, ratings have declined steadily until TLC pulled the plug after 150 episodes.
In the series finale, Gosselin reflected on her life in the spotlight, and on what the future might hold. No surprises, but she wants to continue being a television celebrity, and continue having her children on television.
Of her kids, Gosselin said, "I refuse to pull them out of their house. I refuse to pull them out of their school, so I better figure something out to keep them there." In other words, Gosselin needs to find another way to bring in income enough to sustain the family's current lifestyle.
Do you think the Gosselins will land somewhere else on television, or that Kate will find a new network to hang her hat? TLC has already indicated interest in checking back in with the family from time to time like they are the Roloff family from 'Little People, Big World,' but that certainly won't pay the bills.
