Ricky Gervais Stops by 'Late Night,' Critiques Fallon's Monologue (VIDEO)

Ricky Gervais wasn't a scheduled guest on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), but apparently he was having trouble sleeping since he hadn't plugged anything that day. So he stopped by briefly to have Jimmy Fallon hold his book. But as Fallon went into his monologue, which is a part of the show that still seems to be struggling to really come together, Gervais lingered at the back of the stage. After a particularly awkward joke bombed, Gervais came running forward, apologizing for interrupting.
"You know, they come out, they park their cars," he said of the audience. They're making an effort, he's saying, so Fallon really needs to as well. "You didn't write it ... but do it like you were clever enough to come up with this joke yourself."
