Top 5 Clips of the Week: Sheen Sees the Light, Kathy Griffin Gets Naked & More (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 17th 2011 1:30PM

There were so many good TV clips this week, choosing the Top 5 wasn't easy.

Charlie Sheen returned to TV on a goodwill tour to atone for his wrongdoings, before being roasted for them. Kate Gosselin, on the other hand, vowed to never leave TV. Ricky Gervais monologue-bombed Jimmy Fallon and Snooki crashed a car into her own police escort.

And we can't forget Kathy Griffin getting naked with Anderson Cooper. (We've tried.)

With so much goodness to chose from, let's just get to the clips, shall we? Check them out after the jump and vote for your favorite in our weekly poll.

Anderson Cooper's daytime talk-show 'Anderson' premiered this week, and quickly began chipping away at the hard-won journalistic credibility he's been diligently building for years. He went spray-tanning with Snooki and also spent a lovely weekend with his pal Kathy Griffin, who was determined to make him, and the audience, as uncomfortable as possible by getting naked about seven times throughout the weekend.

Charlie Sheen was back in the news this week in advance of his Comedy Central Roast on Monday, and he looked like a man who had mellowed out and regained his sanity. He proved this by telling Jay Leno that he would have fired himself from 'Two and a Half Men,' too. That's an impressive level of self-awareness.

Ricky Gervais dropped by Jimmy Fallon's late-night program to give him a few pointers on how to do a proper monologue. And by dropped by, we mean he walked out on stage in the middle of Fallon's monologue, and told him that he was rubbish. We can't wait to see him do the same thing to Jane Lynch at the Emmys on Sunday.

Oh, 'Jersey Shore' ... you've given us so much viral goodness to laugh about this season. The over-tanned, under-brain-celled gang's Italian adventures continued this week, as Snooki crashed the crew's Fiat into a police car, which just so happened to be their personal police escort. It didn't quite top the Situation knocking himself out by headbutting a concrete wall on the irony scale, but we can't all be perfect, Snookems.

TLC mercifully canceled 'Kate Plus 8' a few weeks ago, but lest you for a second think that would push Kate Gosselin into reality TV retirement, she went on the 'Today' show to crush your dreams. She is determined to keep her family on TV, she told Matt Lauer, because anything less than that would simply be mediocre.
