Emmys Opening Musical Number: Did Jane Lynch or Jimmy Fallon Do It Better? (VIDEO)

Jane Lynch kicked off the 2011 Emmy Awards with a musical number filled with celebrity cameos (Leonard Nimoy!), which, coincidentally, is how Jimmy Fallon kicked off the 2010 ceremony. So, how did the two compare?
Well, Fallon went big with a 'Glee' tribute and Bruce Springsteen cover, while Lynch took the solo route with an original number about the magic of television and how everyone on TV lives in the same building.
Both recruited a ton of celebs to help out, but Fallon had the stars sing along with him while Lynch dropped into different show sets. Both included a requisite 'Dancing With the Stars' dig, though.
Who nabbed the bigger stars?
This year we saw 'Entourage''s Jeremy Piven and Rex Lee, the 'Big Bang Theory' cast, Kevin Nealon, Andy Richter, Eric Dane of 'Grey's Anatomy,' the one and only Ron Swanson, the cast of 'Mad Men,' a few 'Friday Night Lights' players (clear eyes, full hearts!), and even the 'Mythbusters' dudes. She also Slushied Sue Sylvester (a.k.a. herself).
Last year, Fallon gathered a bunch of Gleeks (weirdly, they didn't appear with their costar Lynch this year), '30 Rock''s Tina Fey, Lynch (dressed as Sue Sylvester), 'Lost' star Jorge Garcia, 'The Vampire Diaries' star Nina Dobrev, 'Community' star Joel McHale, Jon Hamm, Betty White. Check it out below!
We think Fallon had the edge -- interestingly enough, because the 'Glee' hook is much stronger than the tenuous "everyone in TV lives together" story the writers of the Lynch number came up with. But we suppose a 'Glee' tribute would've been way too predictable for Lynch. Oh well.
