Simon Cowell is Still Engaged, Planning an 'X Factor' Musical
Rumors that Simon Cowell's relationship with fiance Mezhgan Hussainy is on the rocks are totally false, a rep for the 'X Factor' impresario confirmed recently.According to our pals at AOL Music, Cowell's spokesperson Max Clifford said the pair is "as close as ever," and that the brunette woman he was allegedly spotted on a date with is a total mystery.
"This British brunette is such a mystery, even Simon doesn't know who she is," Clifford said on the British TV show 'This Morning.' "I'm afraid there is no truth in it. It's nonsense. I have spoken to Simon today about this tale and there is no mystery woman. Simon and Mezhgan are as close as ever."
Cowell and makeup artist Hussainy met on the set of 'American Idol,' and have been engaged since February 2010. But rumors of a split ran rampant after Cowell said to Howard Stern earlier this month that he was "not sure" if the two were still engaged.
Elsewhere on the Cowell front, as the TV and music mastermind prepares for the premiere of the much-hyped American version of his successful 'X Factor' reality talent competition, news comes out of the U.K. that Cowell is hoping to create a West End musical based on 'X Factor.' Comedian Harry Hill will write the book and producer Steve Brown will pen the music, Deadline reports, although the show is still in "very early discussions."
