Steve Jones is still a bit of an unknown commodity to most Americans, so having him host their special 'Countdown to the Emmys' (Sun., 7PM ET on FOX), was a great move by the network. It gives us some face-time with the man who will be the host of 'The X Factor.'

As it is likely to be the biggest show of the fall, he may be on the cusp of Ryan Seacrest levels of fame. On the way, though, he may have freaked out Rob Lowe a little bit. Luckily, Lowe's sons appeared to freak him out even more directly afterward.

First, after Amanda Byram was interviewing Lowe and his family in a very traditional way for a while, Jones interjected. "Rob, if I may," he said. "I would like to tear your face off and put it on my face."

Lowe played along, and Jones was giving the actor a compliment, but the abrupt way in which he came into the interview with came across all kinds of creepy.

He then asked Lowe's sons if they had ever considered getting into the acting business, and neither of them ruled it out, which appeared to come as a shock to their parents. "I thought I'd got them as far as I could from show business," Lowe said. "You've given me a heart attack on live television."
