Elizabeth Perkins Books 'The Closer' Role, 'New Girl' Enlists Lake Bell and More TV Casting News

Elizabeth Perkins'Weeds' star Elizabeth Perkins will guest star on 'The Closer.'

According to EW, Perkins will play Gail Meyers, the wife of the LAPD commissioner. In the Dec. 19 episode, Gail gets into some trouble when she tries to cover up potential scandal.

Mark Moses will play the commissioner and Maggie Wheeler will play a friend of Gail's.

'The Closer' returns to TNT on Nov. 28.

In other casting news ...

Peter Berg will play Maria Bello's former lover on 'Prime Suspect.' The 'Friday Night Lights' executive producer is guest starring as Dan Costello, a deputy chief who is rumored to have helped Jane (Bello) get her promotion. [EW]

Lake Bell and Natasha Lyonne are coming to Fox's 'New Girl.' Bell will play a potential love interest for Nick in episode 3, and Lyonne will play a wedding guest who gets close with Schmidt in a later episode. [TVLine]

Margarita Levieva will guest star on 'Revenge.' The 'Adventureland' actress will play a stripper temptress. [EW]

Drea DeMatto is putting on her poker face for 'CSI: Miami.' The 'Sopranos' actress will play the only female poker player in a high-stakes illegal game. [EW]

Cam Gigandet is heading back to TV. Gigandet, otherwise known as Volchok on 'The O.C.', will play one of the lead roles in TNT's Civil War era drama 'Gateway.' In the Western, he'll play Jake Flynn, a young cowboy who is the perfect embodiment of the Wild West. The show follows three brothers who step in to police their town after their sheriff father is murdered. [THR]

'Big Brother 13' winner Rachel is returning to 'The Bold and the Beautiful.' She'll appear in the Oct. 28 and 31 Halloween episodes as drink-server Rachel, a role she's played eight times. [TV Guide]

'Greek' star Amber Stevens will guest star on 'How I Met Your Mother.' She'll play Janet, a potential love interest for Ted. [The Insider]
