Debbie Accuses Bonnie of Crying for Sympathy on 'Biggest Loser' Premiere (VIDEO)
In a rather abrupt shift during a conversation on 'The Biggest Loser' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), one of the contestants accused another of perhaps turning on the waterworks to garner sympathy.!!SPOILER ALERT!!
The whole exchange was strange to watch, as it came after a loss at the Weigh-In for the Blue Team.
Debbie was talking about how she had a support system at home, as it seemed likely it would be either her or Bonnie going home. But then, out of nowhere, she turned and called Bonnie's tears annoying.
Generally, this early on in the competition, when a team is tasked with eliminating someone they tend to focus on who faltered the most on the scale. In this case, while both Debbie and Bonnie underperformed, Bonnie's 4 lbs weight loss was easily the worst of the night.
But because of Debbie's foot-in-mouth syndrome, it was she who paid the price and got eliminated. They barely know each other, so it's a terrible strategy to lash out at someone so unexpectedly. Especially when you're on the chopping block.
That said, it was sounding like Debbie was trying to say she was okay with going home, before she attacked Bonnie. So maybe this is what she wanted all along?
All in all, though, it wasn't a great start for new trainer Anna Kournikova. She was joined by Dolvett Quince, who is a complete unknown to television viewers but proved his chops both with his attitude in the gym and with the contestants, and on the scales.
Granted, Kournikova was perhaps tasked with the biggest challenge. This season, the contestants were broken up into teams by age, and Kournikova has the oldest group. She said then that she couldn't push them as hard, but it looks like she didn't push them enough.
What did you think of the new trainers? Do you miss Jillian Michaels?
