Jane Lynch Tells Kathie Lee & Hoda How She Fought Through Her Emmy Nerves (VIDEO)

By all accounts, Jane Lynch did a smashing job as the host of Emmys. She kept the show moving, threw out some well-placed zingers and most importantly to her, didn't fall on her face. Lynch stopped by the fourth hour of 'Today' (9AM ET on NBC) and talked about the experience with Kathie Lee and Hoda.Lynch was nervous, but after she got through the opening musical number without any screw-ups, she settled down and found her comfort zone. "The relief started right after the opening number when I didn't take a face-plant ... And then it was fun, I actually enjoyed myself."
Hoda asked her if all the famous faces staring back up at her was intimidating. While some have chosen the "picture the audience naked" strategy, Lynch went with a different approach. "I didn't make any eye contact. Didn't even look. They were just a general wash of people, which kept me from freaking out."
Lynch also kept her cool during a late-show telemprompter outage. In all her nervousness leading up to the show, that wasn't even a potential screw-up she had considered possible. But by that point in the show, she said she had the confidence to power through it, and played it off smoothly, as most viewers didn't even notice.
