Brandon Hantz Reveals His Secret to Coach on 'Survivor: South Pacific' (VIDEO)

'Survivor: South Pacific'Brandon Hantz is proving to be a much more difficult man to figure out than his Uncle Russell. On 'Survivor: South Pacific' (Wed., 8PM ET on CBS), he continued to assert that he's trying to play a nicer game than his uncle, that he's allowing his faith to guide him.

He even confided in his ally Coach, showing the veteran player the tattoo on his arm that reveals his last name. It was a risky move on his part, particularly since Russell helped orchestrate Coach's ouster the last time the two played together.

But it was later in the episode, when Brandon again decided he needed to target Mikayla because she's beautiful and he's married. It's as if he doesn't believe he can control himself around pretty girls, which is a pretty scary prospect for a show where you run around in your underwear most of the time.

But then he started doing some underhanded things like lying and manipulating the other players to try to get his way. That was a very Russell thing to do, but with no real strategy behind it. Mikayla is not a threat to him right now and is an asset to the tribe. His only reason for wanting to get rid of her is because he fears she will be like Parvati, who flirted her way to victory.

Apparently, while this Hantz is trying to be a different man than his uncle, he's fighting some pretty serious demons at the same time. He came clean at Tribal Council, which he didn't have to do, so I have a feeling we'll see a lot of Good Brandon vs. Bad Brandon for as long as he's out there.

I liked Russell, he was up front with his freakiness! This kid is weird, not normal and "fighting his demons" is certainly one way to put it. What's with getting rid of Mykala just cause he is tempted by her beauty??? Is he gonna kill all females in the world so he can stay true to his wife??? He's a little whacked if you ask me, and I'm surprised he passed the crazy test they are supposed to take before going on the show? Being on Survivor may push him over the edge.
