'The Glee Project' Renewed for Season 2, Begins Auditions

Glee ProjectTalented Gleeks who dream of appearing on their favorite show now have another chance at stardom.

UPDATE: According to Deadline, although Oxygen is close to renewing the sleeper summer reality hit 'The Glee Project' for a second season, it has not officially been picked up for season two. However, it has launched the second nationwide 'Glee Project' talent search. Last month, both Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen won seven-episode arcs on 'Glee' as Things didn't turn out too badly for the two-runners up, either: both Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell won two-episode guest spots on the Fox hit as well.

Though 'The Glee Project' debuted soft, the show grew over the summer and went out big -- more than 1 million viewers tuned in to the August finale.

Additionally, the show will host a multi-city open casting call tour in places like New York, Cicago and Nashville. Better figure out how to stand out now -- more than 40,000 young people tried out for Season 1.

In order to be eligible, you must be a triple-threat performer over the age of 18 who looks younger and legally allowed to work in the U.S. between January and April 2012. Audition songs must be selected from a pre-approved list that includes John Legend's 'Ordinary People,' Lady Gaga's 'The Edge of Glory,' Jason Mraz's 'I'm Yours' and Carrie Underwood's 'Before He Cheats.'
