Ratings Report: 'How to be a Gentleman' Premieres Soft, 'Charlie's Angels' Down

Will How to be a Gentleman'How To Be a Gentleman' teach its fellow new fall shows how to be the first one canceled? The new CBS comedy debuted to roughly 9 million viewers. It easily beat NBC's comedies, but lost a good chunk of its 'Big Bang Theory' audience. With a 2.7 ratings in the 18-49 demographic, it debuted more than 30 percent lower than the axed '$#*! My Dad Says,' which had a 4.0. Yikes.

Elsewhere on CBS, 'The Big Bang Theory' was down 2 percent, but still had 14.5 million viewers, 'Person of Interest was steady' at 12.4 million and 'The Mentalist' had 12.7 million viewers.

ABC's 'Charlie's Angels' dropped in its second week, down to 7.2 million viewers. The show was bested in the 18-34 demo by 'The Vampire Diaries.' 'Grey's Anatomy' had 10 million viewers and the season premiere of 'Private Practice' was watched by 7.9 million viewers.

Here's a fact for you: Even with plunging ratings, more viewers watched 'Whitney' than NBC's critically-acclaimed 'Parks and Recreation.' 'Community' and 'Parks and Recreation' were steady with 4 million and 4.3 million viewers, respectively. 'The Office' was down to 6.6 million viewers and 'Whitney' fell to 5.3 million total viewers. At 10PM, 'Prime Suspect' was down to 5.5 million viewers.

Early 'X Factor' ratings have the show down a tiny bit compared to last week with 12.2 million viewers.

'The Vampire Diaries' had 2.7 million viewers and 'Secret Circle' had 2.1 million.

Well I gave Two and a half Men a third try and it failed miserabley so off to another channel in that time slot. Also As long as I changed channels I figured I've seen enough of two grossly overwieght lovebirds trying to justify their being that heavy and living like it should be just another accepted alternative lifestyle.

There are some bad shows in this list, to be certain, but at least 'The Playboy Club' and 'Charlie's Angels' have an actual writing and production stuff. 'H8R' is just loathsome reality stars on a different (but still terrible) reality show, trying to make us like them more than we should. Good luck with that!
