Melissa McCarthy Talks About Her Reaction to Getting 'SNL' Hosting Gig (VIDEO)

Melissa McCarthy, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Based on the evidence presented to us on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), we must conclude that Melissa McCarthy was way more excited to be asked to host 'Saturday Night Live' than she was to find out she was nominated for an Emmy.

She was announcing the nominations when her own name came up, and while she was clearly excited, it was nothing compared to her story about how she broke down crying in a furniture store after getting the call from 'SNL.'

In fact, she was so overwrought that she ran between hanging rugs to continue sobbing, leaving the poor woman who was with her to think that something horrible had happened to someone in her family. Clearly, this was something she'd been wanting to do for quite some time.

And now we'll all get to see how it goes -- and hopefully she'll have herself more together by air time -- this Saturday night.

I really enjoy watching the small videos everyday, BUT please can we change the sponser ads?? I am really getting tired of seeing the cute little bear with poop paper stuck to his butt....over and over again! :-(

Betty White was nervous as hell when she got chosen to host, via Facebook. She even said so in the monologue, and downplayed Facebook. Melissa will be fine. Just watch her

Her reaction was pretty funny although I think SNL is a complete waste of film now. It's not even funny anymore. I've watched it from time to time in the hopes that it gets funny but it just never does.
