Tony Bennett Says Amy Winehouse 'Knew She Wasn't Going to Live' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 30th 2011 4:30AM
Tony Bennett, 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'The last recording made by Amy Winehouse before her death was her duet with Tony Bennett, now available on his 'Duets II' album. He spoke with Jon Stewart on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central) about his time in the studio with her.

It must have been a tragic experience for him, because he was so moved by her voice and the quality she brought to jazz singing. But at the same time, he said he could sense that things weren't right.

"She knew that she was in a lot of trouble," he said. "That she wasn't going to live."

I am 71 yrs old and have konw Tony Bennett as a one the most popular artists of the last century along with the "rat-pack", headed by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis jr. and the rest of them! I admire Tony Bennett as an artist (he is an acomplished and respected painter too) and popular singer, his personal life has been marred with controversies!...
His prior statement, a couple of weeks ago, about X-prez G.Bush who supposedly told him that he "regretted" certain decisions that he had made, including the invasion of Iraq, which he (Tony) recanted later, doesn't give him much credance and credibility on this front, concerning Amy Winehouse...
Tony, just let her rest in peace and find your own, and live the rest that you have left among us thebest that you can, yourself!

How do I know she did? I'm sure GOD has other things to attend to!!!!! Other than a self-inflicted drug habit!!!

I think everyone should open their eyes, and their hearts to what the world is going through..I often wonder what kind of person it is, that takes the time to sit at your keyboard and make rude and hateful comments about anyone they know nothing about, but what the press chooses to spill, and it's 98% lies...I hear people go on and on about famous people and the huge salaries they make and the money they spend, even going so far as saying what they SHOULD be doing with all that money..they have what they have because WE support what they do, whether it be going to see their latest movie, buy the CD, clothes, fragrance or anything else they sell...it's their job and they have the right just like we do to spend it on whatever they choose...celebs are no different that you or me, they all have their demons...so the next time you choose to comment....think to yourself...why am I so hateful and resentful of people...and then GO FIX IT

Now These were words of wisdom! So many pathetic haters out there... Tony Bennett is still a wonder of a singer and a class act- outshines anyone, and I mean Anyone on the same stage with him. He shows his age a bit when talking, but he should be forgiven. When singing- he's timeless.
