If you thought it might be fun to see Whitney and Alex on their first date, 'Whitney' (Thu., 9:30PM ET on NBC) gave us just that. Only it wasn't the way you might have expected, as the couple never really had a first date.

So Whitney decides they should recreate that, taking it -- as expected -- way beyond what a sane person would do. So after failing to impress her on the first date, Andy winds up with no place to stay and decides to play along. So he plays it cool, as guys do.

The next day, they run into each other at a club -- thanks to Whitney's friends -- and continue to play as if they barely know each other. This leads to Whitney's friend helping her lure him in by dancing sexy with her and then making out with her. Guys love girl-on-girl, right?

In the end, it works, and through the craziness of this whole exercise we did start to see some of the potential of the series. Whitney is completely crazy and does everything to the ultimate degree, but she's also a big dork. And underneath it all is a genuine love between her and Alex, which keeps it from being uncomfortable.
