Anderson Cooper Daytime Show Accident Leaves Teenager in Coma

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 1st 2011 2:55PM
The early weeks of Anderson Cooper's daytime show saw him getting a spray-tan with Snooki, but things have turned far more serious after a young person involved in an upcoming episode was badly injured.

Gawker is reporting
that a teenager who was booked to appear on 'Anderson' is in a coma after sustaining a serious head injury in a skateboarding accident. A producer for the show had allegedly encouraged him "go out and film the crazy stuff that you do."

Cooper's reps have released a statement addressing the incident: "Our producers were working with a teen and his parents on a show about the science of the Teenage Brain, based on a National Geographic story. As part of our routine process, we ask guests for video footage and photos. We did not provide the family with a camera. On the morning that they were supposed to travel to NYC, we learned that the teen had been injured. We are very concerned about him, and are thinking of him and his family at this time."

Are we also going to blame Oprah for all of the family problems and perverts across America since she encouraged them to come talk about all of the crazy things they were doing on her show? I agree with those who hopes Anderson rethinks doing this type of show.

Once again, the 'need to create tabloid news'
supercedes 'common sense'. I think CNN and
Anderson Cooper are due for the 'Rediculist' !
Besides, Anderson's 'popularity' is beginning
to 'ride the edge', and he just may be due for a
'big fall off the proverbial edge'...

ANDERSON!!!!!!!!!

You are the "Keeping them honest" guy. What happened that made you take on this type of reporting. JERSEY SHORE?????????????? Parents all over America are having a terrible time parenting. Trying to teach teens to be respectful of their bodies and think responsibly is the greatest challenge parents face today. The media depicts actions without consequences. Negative attention for stupid activity and anything goes. Would you like it if your child did some of the things Snookie or the Kardashians think are worthy to be televised. The bottom line is money. So, Anderson, keeping you honest, is it for the money or do you think that this is worthy journalism.

Yeah I watched this show for about 10 minutes one time, I was in a coma too. Boring, stupid, and not worth being on TV, but then again that makes it a hit dosen't it?

a show about the science of the Teenage Brain. I think it is pretty common to everyone that if you smack your head on the concrete you re going to get hurt really bad. I don't think we needed a scientific experiment to tell us that.

So much for the Teen Brain eh... Get Fame and Recognition.. then go nuts.. try something you shouldn't.. and get hurt.. Sounds about right for an age group that thinks of themselves as impervious to harm and indestructible.

I hope this kid recovers fully.. it's a shame he got hurt.

Hey Anderson, I like you bettter being a journalist, why do you want to have a show like this. You are dumbing down yourself on what you worked so hard to establish..integrity..no w you are losing it with this dumb show..just because somebody like that comic jerk peed in the plane..funny maybe but you can't create a show based on this.
Hope and pray the boy recovers 100%.. so sad
