Millions of Pterosaurs Threaten to Destroy 'Terra Nova' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 4th 2011 6:45AM
'Terra Nova' - 'Instinct''Terra Nova' (Mon., 8PM ET on FOX) settled into adventure-series mode this week with an "adventure of the week" kind of story. With the encampment under bizarre attack by hordes of pterosaurs, the leaders had to find out why this was happening, and how to stop it.

It turns out, Terra Nova was built on a breeding ground for the migratory creatures, which meant there were millions incoming. Through some fancy science they were able to relocate the dinosaurs to a new breeding ground in the nick of time, and that was basically it.

There was no further development on the Sixers, nor any revelations about what secrets Taylor may be holding. They did establish some nice tension for the Shannon family to deal with when it was discovered that Dr. Wallace recruited Elisabeth in the hopes she would show up without her husband.

As a reminder that even after all the time Taylor has been there, the past has plenty of dangers and new tricks up its sleeve, this was solid entertainment. As one piece of a thirteen-episode season, one has to wonder how much meat they're going to layer onto this story if they feel they've got time for such a light installment.

I've watched a couple episodes of each new show and find there are only two I'll continue putting into my DVR, Terra Nova and Revenge. The rest, like Pan Am, Person Of Interest, and Alpha, were a waste of my time.

This was actually a pretty good episode, a lot better than I had expected! And thankfully they left out all the "No matter what happens, we are a family!" crap that Spielberg always manages to get in the plot.

Terra Nova is at best a 1980's made for TV movie. I tried to watch the pilot and was bored to tears, same on epsiode two. I will not give it another try. A five year old could have come up with a better story line. Looks like someone took Jurasic Park and ran it sideways. Spielberg should be ashamed of himself.
