'Dancing With the Stars' Week 3 Elimination Shocks the Judges (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 5th 2011 12:00AM
'Dancing With the Stars' Week 3 ResultsAccording to Len Goodman on the 'Dancing With the Stars' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) results show for this third week, "My expectations were that these two couples would be fighting for the final and maybe one of them going home with the mirrorball." He was talking about the two couples left standing in threat of elimination.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

That said, though, neither of them had the highest scores on the previous night. However, they didn't have the lowest scores either. What they clearly lacked was a large enough fan base. Or maybe, as Tom Bergeron suggested, everyone just assumed they were safe.

It came down to Hope Solo, with professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and Kristin Cavallari, partnered with Mark Ballas. Both scored 24 from the judges this week, so their difference was in the public vote, and in that it was Cavallari who came up short.

Were you as shocked as the judges by this result? Are you excited now about Cher showing up to support her son now that he's made it through this week?

I think we the American people deserve to be given a true winner not one voted on by fickle fans and others with a personal bias or predudice. I refuse to watch this show because of the lurid costumes and dance moves that simulate something better left to the privacy of a private club with paid professionals. Wouldn't it be better if we could have an hour of holiness and spirituality hosted by the very reverend Mr. Pat Robertson or perhaps Paul and Jan Crouch.

After this week and I think ABC should look at what they are showing if you are TV and plan to give your
winnings to some poor person and if you are person making a ass of yourself and mommy and daddy were
in showbusiness you say, because Mommy has pull. This people don't kinow there left foot from there right.
I have been watching this show since it first started. Now I wouldn't wast my electricty to watch such garbage.

THIS WAS THE WORST SEASON WITH DANCING WITH THE STARS EVER. THE PERFORMERS ARE A BUNCH OF CLUMSY PEOPLE. I HOPE THE PRODUCES CAN PICK BETTER ONES FOR NEXT YEAR, IF NOT THE SHOW IS GONE! BAD BAD BAD.

"This is absolutely rediculous! Just because all the gay people vote this could have happened. If this continues forget the show and never ever try to even recreate it! It is similar to the statement "vote for the worst" a few years back for another show, which is not even close to this show! This is absolutely rediculous! It is entertainment. It is your choice to watch or not, just like it is your choice to vote or not. Condeming someone for not fitting into what you perceive as your perfect society is wrong. We all have things in our lives that other people do not like, but will not go out of their way to make a grand stand about it. In the end, it is truly God that is the judge, not we the people. Live and let live. It is ultimately their lives not yours.

I have always loved watching dance competitions - used to watch Len compete on British BBCTV back in the 50's. I agree that it is NOT a true Dance Competition since the general public doesn't have a clue about this form of dance. It is plainly a popularity contest! It is purely for entertainment purposes. If 'John Smith' of 'Any Town, USA' was competing, how many people would watch? The 'Stars' should be judged on their dancing skills and overall improvement from week one, after all, they did NOT go in there as 'Professional Dancers'. Each one of them should be commended for being brave enough to subject themselves to public scrutiny and ridicule. I attended a 'Dancing With The Stars' performance while the show was 'On Tour', and it was THE most exciting show to watch in person. The Professional Dancers work SO hard during each performance. Imagine how difficult it is from their perspective to go out on the dance floor with an amateur who can possibly make or break their reputation. If the 'Dance Shoe' was on the other foot, perhaps the critics might be a it kinder!

We should all live and let live, in whatever way one chooses, as long as we don't hurt anyone along the way. Let God be the judge. Additionally, there are many young people who don't fit society's ideal of what a man or woman should be who are struggling with the same issues of Chez and others. These young people need some type of direction besides such strong attacks against their character. With no understanding and compassion, many of these young people have chosen suicide as an option. What a shame! Chez, and Ellen, and others are giving these young people a light and helping hand among all the criticism. Now, if they are hurting someone, then intervene. There are too many 'perfect' people out there hurting others for society to pick on someone who is as compassionate and caring as Chez, and Ellen, and others, who choose a different path. As for the show, it is entertainment, and motivational. I wish I would get off my fat rear and push back the furniture and try some of that Dancing With the Stars in the privacy of my own home.
