Jess Accidentally Scares Off Schmidt's Potential Score on 'New Girl' (VIDEO)

'New Girl' - 'Wedding'This week we got to see the gang just hanging out like friends on 'New Girl' (Tue., 9PM ET on FOX) and it was a refreshing change. Finally, we get to see what the long-term potential of this series is, and it's pretty entertaining.

When the guys are invited to yet another friend's wedding, they recruited Jess to be Nick's pretend girlfriend, to try and keep him from flirting and getting his heart re-broken by his ex. Unfortunately, Jess being Jess not only drove him into her arms -- and to those tears -- she screwed things up for Schmidt, who called her a "ruiner."

He was desperately trying to not hook up with his regular post-wedding fling, and instead wanted to connect with an old college crush. Without even meaning to, Jess messed that up for him, though his own lies helped set it up.

He told the woman that Jess was an unstable alcoholic, which then Jess "confirmed" when the woman found her in the bathroom cutting her "underwear" off. Slightly freaked out after Jess told her not to hurt Schmidt, she took off. But Jess meant well, and the friends came together in the end for a crazy slow chicken dance.

Okay, well that scene was a little more weird than endearing, but we still see the potential for this show as it continues to find its rhythm.

Was the high school crush Katie Cassidy? They didnt focus on her long enough to confirm, but it kinda looked like her. This show is cute, and I might have laughed out loud once or twice. Only reason I watch is cuz it comes on before Raising Hope, which is by far one of the best sitcoms on tv right now.
