Kim Kardashian's Wedding Planner Tells All (Almost)

by Chris Jancelewicz, posted Oct 7th 2011 9:00AM
You already know that Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries dropped millions of dollars on their lavish California wedding -- but what exactly did they spend that cash on? Solid gold invitations? Trained monkey ushers? In honor of the big event, E! is airing two-day, four-hour extravaganza 'Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event,' which will showcase every second of the momentous occasion.

But we've got some behind-the-scenes scoop for you. To get the straight goods, we spoke with none other than Sharon Sacks, wedding planner to the stars and mastermind behind the Kardashian wedding. What she told us about the nuptials may shock you -- and it's not what you think.

There were butterflies.
Yep, honest-to-goodness butterflies. The wedding was held at a Kardashian family friend's estate in Montecito, California, and there were hundreds of butterflies in the garden. "The wedding took place in this magnificent European garden that had so many butterflies. The aroma of the life that lived in that garden was unbelievable," says Sacks.

The numbers speak for themselves.
According to the Kardashian wedding florist, Mark Held, there were approximately 25,000 - 30,000 roses used at the ceremony. As for other important numbers, there were 720 bottles of wine at the ready, four custom-made pairs of Louboutin shoes for Kim, three dress changes over the course of the day, a 400-foot aisle for her to walk down and a $170,000+ wedding registry for the couple at Gearys of Beverly Hills. (The number of carats in the rings is a whole other story.)

Kim was not a bridezilla in any way, shape or form.
"Kim has unbelievable taste and incredible focus," says Sacks. "She knows what she wants and she knows what she doesn't want. We talked, we visited, we explored. She was a delight, not at all a bridezilla. I had a blast working with her."

Kris wanted to make sure it wasn't a "girly" wedding.
Sacks says that while Humphries pulled out all the stops, he had one request: "Just don't make it girly!" "He just wanted to be sure that the room spoke in a way that would make everybody comfortable," says Sacks. So it wasn't over-the-top in terms of frills, lace or pink.

The couple wanted the ceremony to be traditional, so Sacks and her team achieved that goal by constructing a chapel. Her team also custom-made the aisle runner so it could be folded and reused as a family heirloom. Oh, and they built a massive tent structure to shield the wedding couple from paparazzi. It involved hydraulics and... oh, you don't care.

Love blooms in black and white.
Want to avoid the awkwardness of people wearing ugly or off-putting clothes to your wedding? Do what Kim did! "Kim let people know that white is OK, and I loved that," says Sacks. "The guests were all in black and white, and the result was all the shots of the bride and groom were stunning, because it was all monochromatic. The dining room was also black and white, so you really felt this sense of unity and excitement. Your visual wasn't impaired at all, either, because it was all the flow of the same colors."

And now for the most surprising facet of the wedding couple...

Underneath all the expenses, Kim and Kris are just like you and me.
Despite the millions invested in the wedding, Sacks insists the power couple is just another pair in love. "The mistake a lot of people make is when they think money, they think glitz," says Sacks. "Spending a lot does not necessary mean glitz. Kim and Kris wanted to be certain the love they felt for each other was first and foremost and that it was felt by their guests. I promised them their wish was my command."

The two-night, four-hour Kardashian extravaganza 'Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event,' airs Sun., Oct. 9, 8PM ET and Mon., Oct. 10, 9PM ET exclusively on E!

WHEN YOU ARE IN LOVE its a beautiful thing to share a formal commitment ...I dont know this couples true intentions but there does seem to be a bit to much focus on the event rather than the love they share...anyway I wont be watchin it either way

It is sickening to see all of this celeb crap, regardless of the economic times. These people don't relate to the average folk. I like the Today show, however, I was disgusted to see the Kardashian Klan guest host every freaking day of the week last week. If this chick was a scientist, educator, entertainer, author, chef....housewife, SOMETHING, then I could watch her. But their whole ridiculous family does jack sh-t!!! At least Paris Hilton comes from a family who has a business. The K family comes from where?, does what? And tv is so stupid as to repeatedly shove them in my face...ENOUGH! Then I hear on the radio, how the Fairy Tale wedding of Kim and Kris will be aired...to put it politely...who gives a duck?? Look, tv networks, get off of this crap. The public doesn't want to see a wedding that costs more money than most of us will see in a lifetime. Kim is young and not so bright. It would be nice if she ACTUALLY looked in love, instead of looking at Kris as a dog on a leash. Kris, can do what he wants. And whatever the BIG Frankenstein sister's name is...Khloe?, PLEASE have her wear a bra and non-see-thru clothing while on tv, I like to keep my lunch in my stomach.

These two are not in love, there in love with love. Kim does not have enouf depth to know what love is and Kirs is too childish and to young to make such a comitment. It was clear last night that Kim was more concern about haveing a wedding than haveing a husban. And Kirs just wants to have a pretty woman on his arm. These two so called love birds are blind and naive, theay can't see that theay are headed for a divorce before thay evean got married. Last night Kim kept ignoring all the read flags about Kirs and makeing excuses for him. Kirs knows that he is not getting along with Kim's family but he also ignors the read flags and married Kim anyway. Nether can see that the two of them where going over a clif last summer, theay just kept right on with the festivities. This marrige is the 2011 version of the Titanic, Theay wont make it pass their 3 year anniversary, and thats being generious.

I love them....and I do not think they are sooooooooo fake. Yes, they have money....and yes they do not seem very concerned about ANYBODY but their own selfish wants and desires.....but they seem to reflect the way most people in this country ARE....FOR REAL!!!! SELF ABSORBED!!!! RICH or POOR.....It does not matter. SAD but TRUE!!!!!!!
HEY..... All You Haters.... YOU Need to ask yourselves.....WHAT GOOD HAVE I DONE FOR MY NEIGHBOR IN NEED? HOW MANY HOURS A WEEK DO I GIVE TO VOLUNTEER WORK? DO MOST OF YOU EVEN BOTHER TO VOTE.....MUCH LESS EVEN LISTEN TO OUR PRESIDENT.....OR....GOD FORBID.... WHAT COULD BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT??? If you think the Kardashions are so disgusting ......I sure hope YOU HAVE AN EXAMINED LIFE and all this HATE does not come out of pure ENVY.....Because...to me....It sure sounds like pure Jealousy. I don't think any of us should judge....in the end all that money will never....ever buy your own TRUTH and SELF WORTH.

I don't know if you realize this but, never once did I see Kim or Kirs ever mention God or ever ever ever step in to a church. Their not concern about him, their too busy spending money, sorry.

Kris Kardashian and her brood may have money, but the definitely lack class or sensitivity to the economic difficulties millions of Americans are experiencing on an every day basis. It's almost shameful that a wedding that cost millions of dollars (actually, the production company is probably footing the bill) would be promoted by the family or anyone else. This family has made money off the backs of the American public. Someone needs to pull the plug on the Kardashians, which means you all should stop watching these half wits perform their over-the-top soap opera.
