'Desperate Housewives' Ties Ratings Low: Fans Explain Why
'Desperate Housewives' isn't desperate for good ratings, but these numbers aren't looking so hot. With just 8.46 million viewers this week, the show was down around 10 percent, matching the series' all-time low in their demo, viewers 18-49.
So what does it mean? Well, nothing honestly. Since the show is in its eighth and final season, it's not like it can get canceled, but these signs of viewer fatigue aren't ever welcome, especially when it affects other shows in the lineup. ABC's freshman drama 'Pan Am' continues to make a steady descent in the ratings, and their troubled lead-in is partially to blame.
So why the bad 'Desperate' numbers? Are you still watching? And if not, why not? Fans share their thoughts via Twitter and Facebook after the jump ...
Renée Radia (@reneeradia):
Haven't quit DH yet only because this is the last season. Must...complete...series....
Deena McKinnon Haight (via Facebook):
About the middle of last year I started to realize that I just didn't really care anymore about most of the characters. I also am not exactly sure why, just other shows I enjoy more and only so many hours dedicated to TV.
Judy Lindstrom-Perkins (via Facebook):
I'm watching it -- for sentimental reasons -- but the story line is a bit far out and it's just not as good as in the past. Perhaps it will get better as the season goes on. I'll watch it to the end but I don't do re-runs.
Patricia Daunais (via Facebook):
It got so stupid and I just could not bear to watch it anymore. Far fetched story lines did them in for me.
Leslie Jones (via Facebook):
What happened to the humor, the card games, all the kids (although kids were getting boring)? Is the big story....drum roll...are they all gonna get busted for the murder and cover up, or drum roll...who sent the note...I thought it would be waaay better since it's their last season.
