You Must Never Forget About the Dinosaurs on 'Terra Nova' (VIDEO)
With this week's episode, 'Terra Nova' (Mon., 8PM ET on FOX) is starting to feel a lot more like 'Star Trek,' but not necessarily in a good way.The "monster of the week" turned out to be a virus that wiped memories, but the cure was so painfully obvious throughout the episode, that it became tedious waiting for the characters to figure it out. We like a little bit of mystery and suspense with our dinosaurs, please.
As for a larger story, that was relegated very much to the back-burners, which is a common format for procedural shows and adventure series. That's fine, so long as the adventures are fun, and with 'Terra Nova' we do get those dinosaurs. And what's not fun about those?
This week's best dinosaur moment came right at the top of the hour when one of the scientists, in the throes of the virus, forgot where he was and simply wandered outside. There, Carnotaurus knew exactly what he was: Dinner.
It was cool seeing how dangerous Taylor was back in the war, and how dangerous he can still be, but it was disappointing that maybe about four minutes of screen time was devoted to whatever the Sixers are up to. It looks like Josh is going to become their leverage, now that he's struck a deal to try and bring his girlfriend to Terra Nova.
How do you think 'Terra Nova' is developing? Top-notch science fiction entertainment, or rather bland and generic with hints of potential, or worse even than that?
