What to Watch: TV Picks for October 11 - 16

The Office - Thursday October 13, 9PM ET/PT, NBC/Global

We all knew when Steve Carrell left 'The Office,' other actors and characters would move to the forefront. Tonight we get a closer look at Andy, as he throws a garden party in a bid to impress Robert. The guests include his parents, played by Stephen Collins and Dee Wallace, and by a stroke of incredible inspiration, his brother is played by Josh Groban. Prepare for some serious a cappella attitude.

The X Factor - Wednesday October 12, 8PM ET, CTV/Fox

Holding steady at 12 million viewers, the ratings for 'X Factor' are just fine, even if they are less than the 20 million Simon Cowell predicted. Tonight the remaining contestants are split into four groups -- boys, girls, over-30s and groups -- and then each judges finds out which group they will coach. The contestants then visit the judges' homes and perform for hand-picked celebrity guest mentors.

Harry's Law - Wednesday October 12, 9PM ET/PT, NBC/Global

Camryn Manheim, who played the proto-Harry back in the days of 'The Practice,' plays a DA who is prosecuting a mean girl, whose blog-outing of a classmate led to suicide. Since the teen's actions are gross, ripped from the headlines and provide the opportunity for Harry to wax lyrical about kids today, she decides to defend the kid.

Ice Pilots NWT
- Wednesday October 12, 8PM ET, History Television

The third season of this surprisingly engaging show debuts tonight. It's more of the same -- lunatics (also called aspiring pilots) come north for the chance to fly with Buffalo Airways. For airplane buffs (they exist - I live with one) it's a smorgasbord of vintage planes, technical challenges and excruciating weather.
