NBC Orders More 'Prime Suspect'
Behold the power of the hat: NBC has ordered more 'Prime Suspect' scripts. While not quite a full season, EW reports the network has ordered six new scripts. While not guaranteed to become produced episodes, the additional scripts are a sign of confidence in the fledgling drama series.
The Maria Bello series had a debut audience of 6.1 million viewers. The second episode fell slightly to 5.7 million viewers and its most recent showings have brought in 4.9 million viewers.
A reimagining of the popular British series that starred Helen Mirren, 'Prime Suspect' follows the life of Detective Jane Timoney, a female homicide cop in a very male-dominated police force. The series received mixed reviews from critics.
NBC already gave full season orders to 'Up All Night' and 'Whitney' and canceled 'The Playboy Club' and 'Free Agents.' The Peacock network also gave 'Harry's Law' and 'Parenthood' additional script orders.
'Prime Suspect' airs Thursdays at 10PM ET and Mondays at 10PM ET on NBC
