Fox Bumps 'The X Factor' for Baseball

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 13th 2011 7:00AM
'The X Factor' judgesPity the poor schedulers over at Fox. Not only have they had to bench 'New Girl' to accommodate an extended 'X Factor,' but now they've had to move 'X Factor' because of the weather and sports.

Last night's planned two-hour episode did not air because of a rain delay during Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Texas Rangers.

Instead, viewers on the East Coast got to see the game, while West Coast viewers were treated to a rerun of an episode from last week.

Judge Paula Abdul Tweeted "#Baseball really is America's favorite pasttime! lol! Game 4 rain delay, no #XFactor tonight. back TOMORROW night 8/7c on @FOXBroadcasting."

The rain delay means that the first part of the "judges' houses" round, which should have aired last night, will air tonight (Thursday) instead, at 8PM ET.

Part two will now air this coming Sunday, Oct. 16 at 8PM ET, and part three will air, as scheduled, on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 8PM ET.

There's been no word yet on what will happen if the playoffs go to a Game 7, which would air on Sunday night. Stay tuned for updates.

There are many of us that could care less about boring baseball. If we are paying for the cable then we should have a choice of what we want to watch.

The X Factor hopefully will only last one season. Aren't people tired of these lame shows? American's are so easy to entertain it seems. The likes of Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul only get wealthier while the poor saps watching this crap struggle to get by watching lame talent on the screen over and over again.

I can't believe it another night without the X Factor. There is so many channels that handle sports in the Fall, can't they leave this alone. FOX sneaky like a fox. I personally think this X Factor is a show that gives us a moment in time to enjoy someone else's brief shinning moment and their hopes that it won't be that brief. Hope is alive in this show.... bah humbug, sports

I am not a big baseball fan, but last night's change of programming was a pleasant relief from the lame X-Factor. Gee, I am gettting excited just thinking of seeing these overpriced, egotistical homes of the judges. Can't wait for the new season of AI and AGT to start. Wonder how long before Fox sends The X-Factor packing?

I was beyond disgusted - baseball!!! - it ruined my day.... FOX better never ever do that again... I can't believe people sit there and watch to see if some adult guy hits a ball or not. Get serious.
