Roseanne Barr Relives National Anthem Controversy on 'The Rosie Show' (VIDEO)

Roseanne Barr, 'The Rosie Show'Recently, Roseanne Barr found redemption of sorts when she sang the national anthem on her reality show, 'Roseanne's Nuts.' She talked about that experience, and her infamous 1990 rendition, which spurred a national controversy, on 'The Rosie Show' (Weeknights, 7PM ET on OWN).

Barr took us inside her mind doing those short moments that caused such a stir. "Well they started booing about three notes into it," she said. "You can't walk off the field when you're in the middle of the national anthem, so I knew I had to finish it. So I tried to make it funny."

It didn't work, as Barr was vilified in the press, and even had President George H. Bush calling her a disgrace. Rosie O'Donnell tried to talk about how that impacted her young children at the time, but Barr was just happy that everyone came through it and she got a chance to try again.

She is a pitiful.. She worried about how her children would react? They should have been ashamed of her performance. I will not watch any program with her in it. She showed, by the way she sang The National Anthem, exactly how she feels about her country. She is a disgrace to the country. She ranks, in my opinion, right up there with Jane Fonda.

Nope, not an Obama or Roseanne fan, I just really hate it when people spout stupid, uninformed, reactionary responses without even knowing what they are arguing about. Feel stupid.
