'The Amazing Race' Task Gives Back to Thailand After 2004 Tsunami (VIDEO)

'The Amazing Race' - 'This Is Gonna Be a Fine Mess''The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8PM ET on CBS) made its way to Thailand this week, where teams got a chance to give back to the region -- kind of -- after the 2004 tsunami ravaged the region. Particularly, the coral was devastated. So teams had an option to help rebuild the by building a coral nursery.

Of course, the other option was helping set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach which helps ... the toursim industry?

Both tasks proved more challenging than most teams expected, with twins Liz and Marie perhaps struggling the most with their umbrellas. Wind and umbrellas does not make a good combination.

Others saw their nurseries collapsing and switched to the beach preparation side of the task, costing precious time. Later, they faced a rock climbing Road Block, which is more in the spirit of classic 'TAR' challenges, so it was nice to see them having to really work hard for something.

Andy & Tommy secured their third first-place finish in a row, securing their early dominance in the race. Meanwhile, at the back of the pack it was Liz & Marie in eighth place again. The bad news was that there are only eight teams left. The good news was this was a non-elimination leg, so they'll live to race again another day.

Yeah, putting chairs on the beach is really giving back to Thailand. And the racers left more of mess than actually building a reef.
NELs stink.
