Chord Overstreet Returns to GleeAfter making headlines for leaving 'Glee,' Chord Overstreet is reportedly in talks to return to the hit Fox series.

According to TVLine, Overstreet and Fox are working on a deal to have Trouty Mouth return to the series in a recurring capacity.

In July, Overstreet left the series after his option to become a series regular was not picked up.

He had an offer to remain on the series as a recurring player, but decided to pursue other projects. Since then, he's popped up on ABC's 'The Middle.'

Overstreet's first episode will likely be Season 3's eighth, set to air in December. No word on how the writers plan to bring the character back.

The deal isn't finalized yet, but TVLine reports it's as good as done.

The show explained Overstreet's off-screen exit by having his character, Sam Evans, move away from McKinley High School. Season 2 ended with Sam starting a romance with Mercedes, but her character has since moved on to a new beau.

Yes, I'm glad to see him return. He can sing. Devin, tell me more about his father being a songwriter. I saw Chord on Ellen. What songs did he write? I guess I can look it up. I never thought "Finn" was the best singer. I like "Kurt's high singing, and of course "Blaine's voice of the male singers. Lea Michelle has a great voice. There's no doubt about that. I would like to hear "Quinn" get to sing more. I know. I can't remember most of the actor's names.

He can afford to do whatever he wants, thanks to the fortune his Dad made as a songwriter.
