What Kevin saw was the crazy co-dependency this group has toward one another, constantly meddling in each other's lives. And he's absolutely right, but it's that crazy-obsessive inter-connectedness that makes them such close friends to one another, and the audience that's enjoyed watching them all these years.

They've become family to one another, and with family really there are very few boundaries. So maybe it's not as weird as it looks -- okay, the texting each other symbols representing bowel movements is weird on any level, but are they really any worse than anybody else's family?
