Stewart Talks With Al Sharpton About Possible Herman Cain v. Obama Election (VIDEO)
While talking with Rev. Al Sharpton about the current political landscape on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), Jon Stewart marveled at the possibility of Herman Cain winning the Republican nomination, and how significant that might be. Cain is the current Republican front-runner."The idea of a possible presidential race -- two African Americans squaring off against each other -- has to feel like an achievement for people who worked in the civil rights movement," Stewart said.
Sharpton agreed with that sentiment, but said that it would be indicative of something perhaps even more important to the political conversation about black voters supporting Obama simply because he was black.
"Cain is Southern black -- no inter-racial parents -- and I wouldn't support Cain if he was running against a white guy," Sharpton declared.
