'Boss' Behind-the-Scenes Preview & Interviews, Plus a Big Giveaway

Jeff Hephner as Ben Zajac, 'Boss'What did you think of Kelsey Grammer's new drama 'Boss' (Fridays, 10PM ET on Starz)? The pilot episode laid out Mayor Tom Kane's major dilemma for the series, but it also introduced several other intriguing players in the political landscape of Chicago.

In this behind-the-scenes video, creator Farhad Safinia and stars Kathleen Robertson (Kitty O'Neil) and Jeff Hephner (Ben Zajac) give insight into the Zajac's character and motivation as he becomes the Kane-endorsed candidate for governor.

"I think Zajac is a bright guy, and I think he has the same DNA, in a way, that makes up a guy like Kane," Hephner says. "It's important for him to try to reconcile how deep he gets into bed with Kane," Safinia teases, "because he knows what happens to people who do. Yet, the temptation of the fast-track to winning high office is very alluring."

And then there are Zajac's dalliances, another thing he shares in common with Kane. Robertson teases more about their torrid relationship, pointing out that "she knows better ... but she can't help herself."

Take a look behind the scenes and tell us what you think in the comments. One lucky reader will be chosen at random (see full details and rules below) to receive a special giveaway, courtesy of 'Boss,' including a $250 Amex gift card and a 'Boss' poster signed by star Kelsey Grammer.

The first episode of BOSS was sitting in the "On Demand" for quite awhile and I held off watching it as long as I could. It's intriguing and interesting to say the least. I was surprised that the Zajac character's flaws were being revealed so soon. Having grown in in the city of Chicago, I don't think there's much about politics that could surprise me. BOSS is well written, well acted and it's going to be very hard to wait from week to week for a new episode. It's no wonder it's already been renewed for season 2.

Starz really needs a must-watch show. Kelsey Grammer is fantastic and powerful as a "hated" character. I really feel like this could develop nicely.

It's nice to see Kelsey Grammer play a character that's above and beyond the fare we usually see from him. It looks rather edgy and dangerous. A character that you shouldn't like or sympathize, but somehow you can find the humanity in him. I will make it a point to watch this series.

I was skeptical. Kelsey Grammer as a villain. But the pilot was fantastic. Can't wait to watch more.

After the pilot I am very interested in the show. I hope the show gets better and the network gives it time to really build, unlike other networks!

I've always enjoyed Mr. Grammer's acting and was happy to see the dramatic side again.
As with most pilots, I was a little unsure about the pacing of the episode but hopefully that and the characters will be developed over time.

I thought overall it was a good pilot. It presented a nice opportunity for Grammer to show a different side of what he usually does. I could see that it has potential to grow and take us on an interesting ride.
