Letterman Is Mesmerized by Salma Hayek's Earrings on 'Late Show' (VIDEO)

David Letterman was positively transfixed by Salma Hayek's snake earrings on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS). "I've never seen anything that exotic," he said. "That's like Cleopatra kind of stuff."

When he asked how she takes them off, Hayek explained and then asked him to try taking them off so he could see. Letterman was clearly nervous at the prospect ... or maybe it was Hayek leaning-in so close to him. Either way, she was ready for him.

"All the things you've taken off on a woman and you cannot take an earring off?" she asked.

Finally, he was able to do it, at which point she decided to make a gift of the earrings so that he could remember the moment. "So you can give them to your wife," she told him.
