Talking TV Scares Up 'Grimm,' 'Chuck,' 'Allen Gregory' and 'Sons of Anarchy'

Good news (we hope) for SAMCRO fans: Now that 'Breaking Bad' has concluded its fourth season and we're not gabbing about that drama every week, Ryan McGee and I will be discussing 'Sons of Anarchy' weekly until 'SOA' ends its fourth season Nov. 29. In the final segment in this week's Talking TV podcast, we talk about Tuesday's eventful episode.

Before that, behold the magic: We talk briefly about the return of 'Beavis & Butt-head' on MTV on Thursday, the arrival of the new crime drama 'Whitechapel' on BBC America Wednesday, and the debut of 'Allen Gregory,' Jonah Hill's new animated comedy, Sunday on Fox. Then we talk for longer periods about 'Chuck's' return on Friday and the debut of the supernatural detective drama 'Grimm' the same night on NBC.

Running times are below.

0:00 - 7:47 : 'Beavis and Butt-head'

7:47 - 12:42: 'Whitechapel'

12:42 - 17:40: 'Allen Gregory'

17:40 - 34:02: 'Chuck' (I'll have a piece up about the show's return in the next day or two)

34:02 - 43:18 'Grimm' (I'm not going to do a full review of 'Grimm,' but I wrote about my problems with it in this list of unpromising pilots)

43:18 - End: 'Sons of Anarchy' (I also wrote about this week's episode here)

Don't forget that you can grab the podcasts from iTunes (where you can also subscribe) or you can grab this week's discussion from the Talking TV home site.

Comcast has posted a 20 minute preview of Grimm's pilot On Demand. I couldn't even get through the full 20 minutes, because I find the show incredibly boring and also something just doesn't work for me with the main character. If I don't feel a connection or interest in the main character, I can't really see myself tuning in. However, knowing that Sasha Roiz is in this show might make me reconsider and try again. He was my favorite part of Caprica, too!
