Ozzy Makes One of the Biggest Moves in 'Survivor' History (VIDEO)
'Survivor' (Wed., 8PM ET on CBS) is often won or lost by players making big moves, but perhaps no one has ever made a bigger move than Ozzy did this week. Will it pay off?!!SPOILER ALERT!!
Unity seemed to be the theme of the night. More than on most seasons, these two tribes seem to have a bitter rivalry with one another, and have become very tightly knit. With them also being two of the most evenly matched tribes of all time, post-merge life could be very interesting.
Whichever side comes in with the numbers advantage is likely to simply sweep their way through the other side. But Redemption Island could play a key role in that, depending on who is coming back into the game, and when.
In perhaps her closest duel yet, Christine eked out another win; this time over fellow tribemate Mikayla. Ozzy watched the duel with Cochran, and then a hare-brained idea came into his head. If their tribe loses the next challenge, they'll be going a man down to Savaii. So what if they send a strong player, like him, to Redemption Island to knock out Christine and then rejoin the game and the tribe?
It was perhaps one of the craziest ideas yet, but if it all went to plan, Ozzy could look like a mad genius in the lore of the game. Unfortunately, the first part of the plan went off despite their best efforts, and Savaii won Immunity. However, this was in large part due to Cochran screwing up at the challenge.
So the tribe entertained the notion of sending Cochran -- the one person in this game who is not fully a part of either tribe -- for his own personal redemption. But after sleeping on it, Ozzy was committed to his original plan, and his tribe followed through. They even concocted a lie as to why he was there for Christine, telling her Cochran played the Hidden Immunity Idol.
This could work to their advantage even should Ozzy lose, as Christine will come back to the game and side with Savaii, telling them that the Upolu Idol has been played already. That first vote could then see Savaii getting blindsided, so it's a solid strategy either way it plays out.
However, this is assuming a merge is coming next week, but we've no certainty that is the case. If it doesn't, then Ozzy will have to face multiple duels to get back into the game and reclaim his Idol, while Upolu will have to try and win without him. Risky move!
