Prop 8 Piece Wins Pop Art Challenge on 'Work of Art: The Next Great Artist' (VIDEO)

This week's pop art challenge had an incredible prize attached to it on 'Work of Art: The Next Great Artist' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo). The winner would get a two-page feature spread in 'Entertainment Weekly,' where their art will be seen by 11 million readers. That's incredible exposure for a fledgling artist. While many of the art pieces were less than impressive, perhaps making this week's double elimination a blessing in disguise for the judges, one piece did stand above the rest. Young focused his painting on Prop 8, the bill that eliminated same-sex couples' right to marriage in California.
The judges appreciated his adding a strong political message into his pop art. And now that message gets to be seen by 'Entertainment Weekly's readership as well.
The news wasn't good for Jazz-Minh, who didn't say much with her Britney Spears piece, and Leon, whose American flags mixed with corporate logos has been well played out in the art world.
