Jonathan Jackson Quits 'General Hospital': Report
Sad news for 'General Hospital' fans: Four-time Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson may be leaving Port Charles for good, according to a report by TV Guide. The magazine reports that Jackson will shoot his final scenes as Lucky Spencer on November 17, which means Lucky will say his final goodbyes in mid-to-late December.TV Guide quotes sources who say that Jackson was exhausted from his busy work schedule and the heavy subject matter his character endures, including the death of Lucky's son and his battle with drug addiction. Jackson reportedly met with the 'General Hospital' execs to try and get them to lighten his load, but they weren't able to reach an agreement.
The magazine is also reporting that Jackson tried to rekindle a romance for Lucky with Liz (Rebecca Herbst), but he struck out there as well. It looks like there's no room for happiness in Port Charles.
However, a rep for the ABC soap says "we can neither confirm nor deny" that Jackson is out.
If the speculation is true, however, we just have one question: How will Lucky Spencer make his exit from Port Charles? We're guessing that it could come as a trademark shocking soap death.
