The 'Sister Wives' Discuss Some of Their Concerns With Friends (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 7th 2011 9:10AM
'Sister Wives'Kody Brown and his 'Sister Wives' (Sun., 9PM ET on TLC) have chosen to live their lives in the public eye. As a result of their polygamous lifestyle they've been heavily criticized and even threatened with prosecution.

This week the Browns talked to their friends Andy and Nicole about some of their concerns about having sister wives. Nicole says that "My fears are not having Andy with me every night, or my kids ... for them not to be around their dad all the time."

The sister wives agreed that it's important for all the family members to want to be a part of the extended family, and Kody Brown concurred that it's hard work. "You have to work it out. You have to get it figured out. And it's not perfect on the first day."

These are grown ups who are living according to their religious beliefs. Why should they be persecuted? This has nothing to do with the Mormon LDS church, this is a fundamentalist Morman church. The Brown wives, Kody and the children seem happy with their choices. They were much happier in their multiple home where each wife had her own apartment, but there was a big common area so all the kids did see Kody every day, as did all of the wives. Many biblical men had multiple wives, too. This is not a lifestyle I would personally choose because I was not raised in a fundamentalish Mormon home. Why are we not content with the concept of 'live and let live.' We are not supporting the Brown family and their children, my guess would be that TLC is.

The whole concept is disgusting. Why don't they admit to WANTING sex with more women and leave it at that. It's all stupid.

I remember when marriage was a partnership between a man and a woman. Not a limited liability corporation regarding all parties involved. 1 man 4 wives means the women only have a husband 25% of the time and the kids have a father 25% of the time. Who lives like this really?

It's ok for a man to marry as many women as he wants, sleep with a dfferent wife each week, father a bunch of kids with these women. He then gets a television show flaunting his life style and as a reward he earns millions of dollars. On the other hand people of the LGBT communiuty are looked down upon and made to live in fear because they fell in love with a person of the same sex. Society says it's ok for a man to be married to several women at one time just because he's HETEROSEXUAL and hiding behind a cult/religion.

When the sister wives get brother husbands, I think this whole notion of multiple wives is crazy. its not fair the men get to have all these women

You could tell the other guy wanted this kind of marriage so bad his tongue was hanging out. His wife I don't think not so much.
