Herman Cain Laughs Off Sexual Harassment Allegations on 'Kimmel' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 8th 2011 5:45AM
Herman Cain, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'According to Herman Cain, the sexual harassment allegations that have been laid at his campaign doorstep over the past week haven't been all bad. While he's planning a press conference to address the accusations directly, and affirms that "there's not an ounce of truth" in the claims, he also indicated on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM on ABC) that fundraising has actually improved.

"The day of ... these accussations, we had the highest fundraising day online in the history of this campaign and it has not stopped," he said. "The American people are saying, 'We are sick of gutter politics.'"

When Kimmel jokingly asked Cain if he thought the other candidates should hire some women to accuse them of sexual harrassment, Cain responded, "If they're smart, they will." A funny joke, or something else he's going to have to back away from in the weeks to come?

I suspect Jimmy knew Cain would laugh.

The real question is why Jimmy would have him on his comedy show.

Would he invite on an accused rapist and laugh about it?

This is part of the problem.

Al Hamlin, I realize you can't stay on track here, but remember that Bill Clinton was impeached.

Also, Anthony Weiner was driven from office within 2 weeks.

I'll say there's a double-standard here, but it's the opposite of the one you suggest.

It was OK for Clinton to do what he did and when women came out they were not given any time to prove what was done to them it was not until Monica had proff that it was noticed but he stll had everyone on his side. Mr. Cain did not sleep with any of the accusers. What a double standard if you are a Democrat which I am you do no wrong. If it happens to be Republican tear them apart. Cain would make good president.

Herman Cain is a practiced liar and should not even be considered as a candidate. What have we come to?

Why wouldn't his ratings go up with Republicans! They think woman are just property any way, don't they? They want to control what woman can do with their own bodies, force them to bear children and stay on their knees.

I've heard that when people know they are on weak ground. they try to create a walkway for themselves by throwing out increasingly strong over-the-top denials. And, of course, denials that seem out of proportion make others increasingly suspicious and more interested in looking closer. It is a losing strategy.
