Kelly Ripa Signs New 5-Year 'Live!' Deal

Kelly RipaRegis Philbin is out the door, but viewers can expect at least five more years of Kelly Ripa on 'Live!'

According to Deadline, Ripa has signed a new deal to remain with the series for five additional years after her current deal expires in fall 2012. A representative for the show confirmed the news.

Philbin leaves 'Live! With Regis and Kelly' on Fri., Nov. 18. Following his departure, the show will be renamed 'Live! With Kelly' as the producers search for a permanent replacement. When Kathie Lee Gifford left the series in 2000, the show was retitled 'Live! With Regis' while producers auditioned various co-hosts opposite Philbin. Ripa ultimately got the job in 2001.

The first guest co-host will be Jerry Seinfeld. He'll sit opposite Ripa from Mon., Nov. 21 - Wed., Nov. 23.

"Jerry is a great friend of ours, and a friend of Kelly's, and it doesn't hurt that he's an entertainment icon," Michael Gelman, 'Live!' executive producer, said in a statement. "It's a great way to kick off the new beginning of our show."

Jason Segal, Kim Cattrall, Howie Mandel, Jamie Oliver and Miss Piggy will stop by 'Live! With Kelly' while Seinfeld is co-hosting.

Regis was really old and out of touch. So glad he is gone. He always wanted to talk about his NY sports teams and Notre Dame. It is a national show and most of the audience care about our own teams. He is also very annoying. Kelly in my mind has been carrying the show for years.

I DO NOT LIKE KELLY SHE BUTTS IN WHEN SOMEONE IS TALKING AND SHE IS ALWAYS CRITISIZING, BELITTLING AND MAKING FUN OF REGIS, SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL HER SHE MAKES MISTAKES ALSO AND IS NOT THE PERFECT ONE. IT IS ALWA;YS ABOUT HER, HER HER AND HER FAMILY FIRST AND IT GETS BORING.
MY FRIENDS AND I LOVE REGIS, HE IS SO HONEST AND DOWN TO EARTH IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO REPLACE HIM. WHEN REGIS LEAVES WE WILL NO LONGER BE WATCHING THE SHOW WITH KELLY ON.

One of the reasons Regis and Kelly are/were so great together was because of the age difference! The two of them fed off of each other in a fantastic result of pure entertainment! Without the magic, this show will greatly suffer. The replacement has to be older and wiser. If the replacement does not have the intelligence and "news knowledge" of Regis, this show will not last. To put another woman with Kelly would be awful! Kelly brought this show to greatness far better than it was before her. Without and older man as a partner, I do not see her being able to continue to keep the ratings up. On the shows where Rgis was not there, with the exception of Anderson Cooper, Kelly was bland and almost childish in her actions! I do hope they take their time and find the perfect combination!

kelly Ripa is just the most spectacular person,she is so great,a real pick me up and great way to start your day..Her and Regis were magic together.
