Robert Pattinson Explains Why Sex Scene in Latest 'Twilight' Was Rated R (VIDEO)

Robert Pattinson, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'If you thought Robert Pattinson's discussion about the sex scene that was pushing the latest 'Twilight' film into an R rating was awkward on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), it's even worse when you consider that his proud parents were sitting in the audience.

The rating wasn't because of any nudity seen, though. It was something far more challenging to fix, as they apparently had problems with the thrusting. That said, Pattinson said it was Kristen Stewart who pushed the boundaries and not him. So his later comment about a leash restricting his movements would have been unnecessary.

It's kind of an odd area to evaluate, when you think about it. How do you determine what measurements of thrusting are acceptable, and when it crosses that line? And how does one measure a thrust anyway?

Since when does sex (quite graphic sex, at that) get an R rating? I have seen plenty of PG movies with over-the-top sex scenes; I doubt this one was any different.

I'm not sure what book some ppl were reading but there was in description like 2 sex scenes and a cpl others spoken of. Also, to Pete, we live in a world were all kinds on nonsense happens. There are sick individuals out there that live for sexual vulgarity and fiend for it! Sure you can turn a blind eye to it, but trust me turn on the news or read the paper, it's always there. What they have created for this film is NOTHING compared to how much worse they can make sex scenes in film.

There was sex In the Breaking dawn book . Not sure what books you read But , there most certainly are sex encounters In the book .

I dont know why they are even doing the sex scene anyway. They claim to be staying true to the book..the faded to black in the book. there was NO sex. While im in my 30's I dont mind that there is a sex scene in the movie. but what about the young girls? or the young girls little sisters? you get what im saying. why didnt they just make a theature version and a directors cut version for the dvd release? either way they should stop saying they are staying true to the books. when in fact there was no sex..makes no sence to me

If you had the morals of a street dog you wouldn't do that kind of action in the first place!

People are not as dense or stupid as hollywierd portrays us. We can understand the idea without having it "thrust" directly in our faces.

The best days of hollywierd are long in the past. Today they are more in to medium porn (beyond soft, not quite hard core - yet) than anything else.

Quit with the vulgar language, quit with the running around naked, quit with the sexualizing of everybody and everything.

Grow up! Adults don't act that way. Pre-pubescent children do.

And I thought thrusting was only in sword fighting, such as on-guard , parrie , jab and thrust. Wow will wonders ever cease
