'Law & Order: SVU' Star Bilked Out of $1 Million By Business Manager

Tamara Tunie'Law & Order: SVU' and 'As the World Turns' star Tamara Tunie has been swindled out of $1 million by a former manager.

According to the New York Post, Tunie's former business manager, Joseph Cilibrasi, admitted that he stole more than $1 million from the actress over the course of a decade.

Tunie hired Cilibrasi to be her business manager in the early 1990s.

Cilibrasi will serve at least 2 and a half years in prison. The maximum sentence is 7 and a half years. He pled guilty to first degree grand larceny and stealing from Tunie. Sentencing takes place Jan. 4.

The prosecutor on the case, Peirce Moser, said the accountant stole money from Tunie by opening a credit card account in her name. He also wrote himself checks from her bank accounts. The stolen money was reportedly used to invest in theater and movies, fund his business and take vacations.

Tunie currently appears on 'Law & Order: SVU' as a special guest star.

The proper check and balances set from the beginning will take the temptation out of the equation.
Keep honest people honest. There are many successful actors and sports figures who gave too much authority
to someone who crumbled under the weight of temptation. Thank goodness she has the earning power to regroup
and do well. I really like the characters she portrays. Her talent will make her solvent again.

Pay a few extra dollars and hire an auditor from time to time ...and just knowing that, will keep these clowns in line.

No one's that busy or important that they can't manage their own affairs, especially financially. 'Business managers' are like banks.

The bum probably doesn't have any of the cash left. Hopefully, there is a way she can seize property, like the government does. Serving prison time doesn't restore her to whole, even though it may give her some satisfaction. But you can't spend satisfaction. And, really, two and a half years ? What a message that sends! There are probably a fair number of people who would steal a million dollars if they knew they were only going to be incarcerated for two an a half years.

She should sue him for EVERYTHING he has, except the clothes on his back, and TAKE everything he has, while he's in prison. Cars, house, furnishings, stocks, bonds, etc. ,...all to her.

She is a great actress and deserves better than being on Law & Order SVU A.K.A. the Mariska Hargitay show. Please sue your former ( crook ) manager for all he has!!
