'Law & Order: SVU' Star Bilked Out of $1 Million By Business Manager
'Law & Order: SVU' and 'As the World Turns' star Tamara Tunie has been swindled out of $1 million by a former manager.According to the New York Post, Tunie's former business manager, Joseph Cilibrasi, admitted that he stole more than $1 million from the actress over the course of a decade.
Tunie hired Cilibrasi to be her business manager in the early 1990s.
Cilibrasi will serve at least 2 and a half years in prison. The maximum sentence is 7 and a half years. He pled guilty to first degree grand larceny and stealing from Tunie. Sentencing takes place Jan. 4.
The prosecutor on the case, Peirce Moser, said the accountant stole money from Tunie by opening a credit card account in her name. He also wrote himself checks from her bank accounts. The stolen money was reportedly used to invest in theater and movies, fund his business and take vacations.
Tunie currently appears on 'Law & Order: SVU' as a special guest star.
