Sheldon's Machine to Scare Away a Bird Backfires Destructively on 'Big Bang' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 11th 2011 12:30AM
'The Big Bang Theory' - 'The Ornithophobia Diffusion'Sheldon Cooper was crippled by the presence of a bird he described as a bluejay, but our non-expert eyes thought it clearly looked like something at least a bit more exotic than that. Nevertheless, the bird tormented him through the window on 'The Big Bang Theory' (Thu., 8PM ET on CBS), until he rigged a machine to scare it off with soundwaves.

Unfortunately, the machine proved far more effective in cracking all of the glass in the boys' windows, while the bird was completely unperturbed. But while the bird was as calm as a cucumber, Leonard and Penny put their friendship to the test, and nearly something more.

When Leonard admitted that he did a lot of things with her solely for sex, and stood up more for himself on this non-date, it proved to be a bit of a turn on for Penny. Of course, he screwed it all up in the end, missing out on a possible hook-up.

Meanwhile, Sheldon's attempt to shoo the bird away through the window led to the bird flying into the apartment. There, with the help of Amy and Bernadette, he was finally able to put his fears to rest. But being Sheldon, that turned into an obsessive love for the bird that left him shattered when it flew away again, leaving behind an egg for him to now obsess over.

But what about those windows?
