by Chris Harnick, posted Nov 15th 2011 3:20PM
Gayle King 'The Gayle King Show' will come to an end as the host joins Charlie Rose and Erica Hill on CBS's revamped morning program.

"We are so happy for Gayle's opportunity of a lifetime," OWN said in a statement. "Although her show will not continue on OWN, we look forward to her joining us from time to time as her schedule allows."

The plans had been rumored for weeks, but CBS officially announced the new series on Tues., Nov. 15. The new show will launch Mon., Jan.9, 2012 and air from 7-9AM. CBS has named Chris Licht as executive producer of the broadcast. John Miller will serve as senior correspondent, Rebecca Jarvis will be the business and economics correspondent and Jeff Glor will be the program's special correspondent.

Rose will lead the 7AM hour of the program. He'll continue to host his PBS and Bloomberg series. King will take the reins at 8AM.

"I am both exhilarated and humbled to take on this challenge," Licht said in a statement. "We have a first-rate team in front of and behind the camera. Our goal is simple: build a broadcast with its own identity that gives viewers something truly different in the morning."

According to CBS, the new broadcast will be a mix of daily news, national and international stories and feature interviews with business, political and entertainment figures.

I am so enjoying 20 minutes of some intelligent news coverage. Charlie Rose is fantastic and I am beginning to enjoy Erica Hill. Then the commercials set in and worst of all then Gale King. She is hard to look at and what's with the sixties red flip hairdo, bright colored and tight attire? She looks like a clown. I like the format of the beginning of the show and perhaps because it is new I am watching the program to see where it goes. I am so over the today show and good morning america.

Okay, so you're Oprah Winfrey's Best Friend. Do what best friends do, Stay in the BACKGROUND! You are hard to look at, have no outstanding personality, and are opinionated. The public does not ENJOY your company girl! You just don't have that "IT FACTOR". And as for the Intelligent person responsible for hiring Gayle King, How in the H-Town did you get your job. Such a powerful job! You get to decide who we, the 99% get to watch on T.V.! You should be FIRED after making a decision like this one. Were you paid off, returning a favor, or you just don't know any better?

What is all the fuss about over Gail King being on the Morning Show...remember Gail was an experienced anchor woman for years in Conneticut??? What does personality have to do with delivering the news anyway, and as far as her having her nose in the air, that's what referred as confidence. These petty complaints are ridiculous, and for the record Oprah didn't get Gail the job. There's only one Oprah, and Gail is not trying to be Oprah.

Charlie Rose a little uptight but knowledgeable , enjoys answering his own questions. Gayle King too self absorbed , was painful to watch on OWN always pulling on her too short dress , and tugging on back of her weave. Didn't really seem interested in what her guest thought wanted to get her veiwpoint in. However , I wish them both the best.

I can stomach Charlie Rose if I'm up late and night and there's nothing else on television. He's smart, asks good questions, and has a certain droll charm late at night. I won't be watching he and Gayle in the mornings, though. Fresh faced and bouncy are neither of them. I already watch ABC News, and they are 'bout getting on my nerves with the lady doing entertainment news, and all the other hokey stuff. There's too much news time, which turns into crap when they're trying to fill the morning hours. Evening news programming is so much better. It's concise, informational, and there's just enough of it.

Can't you just leave it alone? After Harry, Maggie, Russ, and Dave left we started watching FOX or NBC. Erica, Chris, and Jeff were supposed to "fix" the show. Well, they did not fix anything. Adding Gayle King is a HUGE mistake. She needs to face facts: She will never be another Oprah. CBS needs to face facts: You ruined the show, it will be impossible to fix.it. Guess we will keep watching FOX or NBC.
