'Law & Order: SVU' Stars Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni Together Again

Chris Meloni, Mariska HargitayFormer 'Law & Order: SVU' partners Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni reunited on Mon., Nov. 14. Sadly, it wasn't for an episode, but it was for a good cause!

The two were spotted in New York City at the 12th Annual Make Believe on Broadway gala at the Shubert Theater. To the delight of many -- including the 'SVU' fans here at AOL TV -- the dynamic TV detective duo posed for photos on the red carpet.

As much as we're digging the new 'SVU' this season, it's great to see Meloni and Hargitay back together. Just look at Hargitay's smile!

Meloni left 'SVU' after Season 12. At a recent press conference on set of the show, Hargitay said she's open-minded about a future on the long-running cop drama.

"I'm going into this with a completely open mind," she said. "What I've learned is you don't know what the future brings and everything is new. Everything is fresh."

Check out more photos from the event below.

'Law & Order: SVU' airs Wednesdays, 10PM ET on NBC

I agree. The show won't be the same without Christopher Meloni. If the ratings go down, it will be a @#%^ shame, because I like the show.

Law and Order SUV is not Law and Order SUV without Christopher. Please bring him back!!!! The show is going to lose its rating because of the new cast. It is just not working......You will be losing viewers if this continues.

Hope they come to an understanding with Chris Meloni. He is worth the price. The show could be the longest running show if you have the right cast - it was working - do not fix it!!!!!! I guarantee you if you take a vote you will see that everyone agrees.

NBC made the wrong move by not trying hard enough to re-negotiate Chris Meloni's contract as without him the show is barely alive. Now, I cannot believe they're even considering replacing Hargitay with Jennifer Love Hewitt??????? Are you kidding me? I've watched this show faithfully for 12 yrs. because of Chris & Mariska. If Hewitt replaces Hargitay I will never watch this show ever again. What is wrong with these companies today? i.e. Two and a Half Men & SVU. You can't have shows that have run 8-12 yrs. with the same lead actors & then decide to replace them & expect the shows to succeed. The whole point after 8-12 seasons is familiarity with the lead actors who may not have created the show, but are certainly the ones who made these shows major hits with huge ratings! Ratings create more advertising, advertising creates mass amounts of money; therefore, pay these lead actors what they're worth from turning a pilot into a gold mine! Its not rocket science, but seems these days executive producers are trying to salvage these hit shows with unknown or D-list actors as if the audience won't recognize that their favorite actors have been replaced!
