Comedy Central Renews 'South Park' For 3 More Seasons

by Chris Harnick, posted Nov 16th 2011 12:50PM
South Park Renewed'South Park' is sticking around for at least three more seasons. Comedy Central has renewed the long-running series, keeping it on the air until at least 2016.

"The collective genius of Matt and Trey knows no bounds," Michele Ganeless, president of Comedy Central, said in a statement. "Week after week and season after season they continue to surprise and delight 'South Park' fans, and that includes all of us here at Comedy Central. We're thrilled that the adventures of Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman will continue through 2016."

The renewal will bring 'South Park' to a landmark 20th season. Created by Matt Parker and Trey Stone, the animated series has been a mainstay on Comedy Central since 1997. It's inspired a full-length motion picture, countless merchandise and become the satirical voice of a generation.

Episodes of Season 15 have been averaging just less than 3 million viewers an episode.

New episodes of 'South Park' begin Wed., Nov. 16, 10PM ET on Comedy Central.

You also neglect to mention that a three season renewal extends it from 2013 to 2016. They got a 2 season renewal already a few months ago.

This show should be removed and all previous shows destroyed. Its anti-American anti-Christian leanings has turned away many viewers. South park is clearly aimed at confused 14 year olds with too much time on their hands. God Bless America. In God We Trust.

This 'show' needs to removed from the air & every episode burned. It's nothing but trash.

Go, Wolf-Spider!

Which one is the leader of that quartet: Dark-blue hat, or the green hat? Obviously, it's not the big one, nor the mouthless wonder. (Wonder - as in, "I wonder how he keeps respawning after all the smeg he endures.)

I bet those cartoon shows are really cheap to make. At least they look like they are cheap to make. No actors, no stage and lighting and sound; and whats passing for writing must be something someones sister throws away from her 3rd grade teaching job in the South Central L A.
