Maddy Stuns Friends and Family With Her Slimmer Figure on 'I Used to Be Fat' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 16th 2011 5:30AM
Maddy, 'I Used to Be Fat'If for every story we see on a weight-loss program on television, just one person out there with no cameras pointing at them changed their life and started losing weight, the United States could reverse its obesity trends. Maddy showed what can be accomplished in just five months of hard work on 'I Used to Be Fat' (Tue., 10PM ET on MTV).

When the program started, she hated herself and sabotaged her own body with food in anger and frustration. Weight loss for many is as much about gaining mental health as physical. Maddy was able to do both, shedding an impressive 85 pounds and gaining a sense of self-worth that's priceless in the process.

They shouldn't be telling her, "She looks beautiful." Ugliness is not the problem with being overweight. They should rather be ecstatic about her health and nothing more. I hate that people use 'looking better' as a way to encourage people to lose weight. I'm worried about my overweight friends because they may leave me too early or be bombarded with illness that I would never want them to deal with. Not because they bother my eyes....

Just because they say she looks beautiful doesn't mean they are saying that she was ugly before because of how much she weighed. Yes health should be the main issue they deal with as opposed to doing it to look good but that's not how most people think. Most do it so they look good and realize how much healthier they are after the fact. People are just fixated on how others view them, and I'm certainly not saying all people do that of course.

It is not easy to lose weight and keep it off. If it was we would not 30 % of Americans who are overweight. By not using the next fad diet plan and losing the weight the right way by changing her diet to more heathly ways and a sound exercise plan she can look forward to a life as a slimmer person. However no plan will work unless they find othersways to deal with daily stress and other triggers that got them to gain the weight to begin with. You keep head in order and the rest will follow.

90% of all illegal anchor children from mexico are disgusting obese pigs. You will often see them stealing and eating candy right off the shelves in stores and their parents allow it.

good for her, getting in shape. its not about looking good, but about being healthy. no one's saying being a size 4 is the most attractive, but living a long healthy life is what's really beautiful.

You are pathetic ! Obviously by this comment you are only interested in over weight women in a sexual manner. IF you truly loved someone you would care about the health issues related to being over weight.
